Mr. Dave Shover served as Director of Vocal Music in the Camp Hill School District for 28 1/2 years. During that time he taught General Music, Music Theory & Composition, and directed five different Vocal Ensembles. He directed the vocals for Camp Hill’s Award-Winning Spring Musicals for over two decades and still serves as the Pit Pianist for Camp Hill’s shows. He has served as Guest Conductor for PMEA , PCMA, and DCMA Choral Festivals in both Districts 7 and 8. Mr. Shover also directed the Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensembles on the American Music Abroad Silver Tour of Europe during the summers of 2010-14, touring France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, and Italy. Currently serving as the High School Principal at the Millersburg Area High School in Millersburg, PA, he has over 30 years of experience teaching piano, Mr. Shover combines the fundamentals of musical theory, technique, and scales with a love of playing the piano. Students will learn to play both traditional classical piano repertoire as well as modern contemporary music. Students who wish, may choose to learn how to read chord charts & lead sheets in order to play jazz/pop repertoire. Students who serve as accompanists for their school ensembles, or participants in their church worship teams, may bring their music to work on during lessons. Students who are auditioning for PMEA District Chorus as either a singer or accompanist are also welcome to bring their audition music to work on during lessons.
